Scholarships for High School Freshmen

In this next series of articles on scholarships, I will be covering scholarships for high school freshmen that are currently available. If you are currently a high school freshman looking for scholarships, I would definitely advise to check out any and all of these problems. Without further delay, let’s begin this new list of scholarships for high school freshmen.

- McKelvey Entrepreneurial Scholarship: This is a scholarship for high school freshman that have the spirit of an entrepreneur and most likely hope to start their own business or something new someday (perhaps the next Myspace…). The foundation offers 100 scholarships that are worth $10,000 each!

- National Vocabulary Competition: This is one of the scholarships for high school freshmen that have a strong vocabulary; high school students aged 13 to 19 are eligible and must first take the national qualifying exam, after which the top 50 go to the championships. The winner will receive a total of $40,000!


- National High School Poetry Contest: This scholarship for high school freshman, sophomores, juniors, and seniors goes to students who submit the best works of poetry. They offer several $1,500 awards to the winners.

- National Peace Essay Contest: This scholarship is available to high school students who submit the best essay.

- NetAid Global Action Scholarship. This is one of many scholarships for high school freshman (through seniors) that care about the world and have a passion to help the less fortunate people in the world. They offer 4 $5,000 awards to the winners.
