Since this the aim of this blog is to help you find financial aid resources that will help you in affording college, I will also be posting scholarship opportunities on here that I think are good ones as a form of financial aid.
Of course student loans, student consolidation loans, work-study, and all of that good financial aid stuff will help you to be able to afford the costs of attending college, but wouldn’t you rather get money that you never have to pay back? That is when scholarships and grants come into play.
Well anyways, I was recently cruising the Internet and came across this website called More Than Grades. At this website students can create customized profiles for college admissions officers to review, that will paint a better picture of them than their standardized test scores will. By doing this, one might have a better chance of being admitted into their dream school.
In addition to this, More Than Grades is currently offering a $20,000 scholarship for high school seniors! All you have to do is film what you think makes you more than a grade. If yours is judged to be the best and most creative, the scholarship money is yours.
I would definitely advise signing up for this website and making a video to apply for this scholarship, as I do not think this website (or the scholarship is one that is highly well known. While I usually discourage going for national online scholarships that will be highly competitive, I do not think there will be too much competition on this scholarship. If you just take the time to really think about what would make a creative video and apply, you probably have a chance of winning this scholarship.
So visit the website and apply for this scholarship now!
