Here is another way that you might be able to save up some extra money to help pay for college:
Try investing. After you have saved up some money from a job (or if your parents are nice enough to give some to you) try investing some of your money in stocks to make a profit. THIS IS A RISKIER OPTION, so make sure that you educate yourself on the stock market and how to invest wisely before you actually attempt to do so! Buy a book or two, and perhaps talk with a stock broker if you have the chance. If you decide that you would like to try to invest in the stock market to save extra money for college, first set up an online broker account (through a company such as Scottrade) and decide what to invest in. While sometimes you might lose money, you can also make great profits as well. For example, I have watched Intel as a stock over the years, and lately it has been rather low with the current economic situation and all. Having worked at Intel in the past and doing some analysis on the company's stock, I had good enough faith to invest in 1000 shares. I invested at about $13 per share. Recently the price spiked up to abou $1650 per share, at which point I sold my shares making a $3500 profit in only a matter of weeks. With this kind of mentality and a certain love for risk taking, if you invest in stocks you might be able to save up even extra money for college! However, as I said, in consideration of the current economic situation and all, make sure you think wisely in deciding whether you want to do this or not.
