Step 6. Easy scholarships to get

Easiest scholarships to get.

In finding money for college, students ultimately have one goal; to get money for college. You do not care where your money comes from, or what you have to do to get it, as long as there is someone out there covering the tab for your college costs. Therefore, why waste your time applying for scholarships that are cutthroat in competition when you could get easy scholarships. This post will cover the easiest scholarships to get, as why waste your time applying for scholarships that you might not win in the end.

The easiest scholarships to get are those that are local or specialized. So when applying for scholarship try to avoid applying for national scholarships, or one’s offered to a broad spectrum of students. The easiest scholarships to get will be one’s that are available only to your major, one’s available only to your race, or scholarships based on activities, beliefs, etc. that you are a part of.

Often, the easiest scholarships to get can be those that are through a company that you work for, a local community service organization that you have been a part of, and in general less-prestigious scholarships that not as many people know of. These scholarships will be easier to get because less people will be applying, giving you a greater chance of winning.

If you are a high school or college student looking to get easy scholarships, check out the following programs. While they are by no means a hand-out (you will have to put hard work into the application and have strong qualifications as listed on their websites), I have known more “typical” students (in other words, not a student with a 4.89 GPA, planning to go to Harvard, and already working on a cure for a disease) to win the following scholarships:

-Ronald McDonald Scholarships

-Burger King Scholarships

-Gates Millenium Scholarship

-Most scholarships offered through local organizations (see which are in your area!)
